Lucky phone number check
by the Chinese system
Cast a hexagram from the digits of a number, casting by numbers as taught in 梅花易數 and see how the self trigram relates to the event trigram, with 5 auspicious levels. No birth date is needed.
Simple reading: the hexagram is cast from the digit totals of the number. The text 梅花易數 says nothing about phone numbers. Using it on a phone number is a modern adaptation.

Hexagram 29 坎
Kan (坎) means sinking.
What this hexagram is about
Kan (坎) concerns sinking into a pit; the full name is Repeated Kan (習坎), doubled peril. Its image is the trigram Kan (water) doubled: water arriving again and again. The Tuan Zhuan (彖傳) explains that water flows yet does not fill, and proceeds through peril without losing its good faith (信). The text describes having trust, a heart that is successful, and going on being esteemed. The text stresses that the peril of heaven cannot be climbed, and kings and dukes set up perils to guard their states.
Commentary on the hexagram in 《彖傳》
Repeated Kan (習坎): doubled peril. Water flows yet does not fill; proceeding through peril, it does not lose its good faith (信). The heart is successful: through the firm being in the middle. Going on is esteemed: going has merit. The peril of heaven cannot be climbed; the peril of earth is mountains, rivers, hills and mounds. Kings and dukes set up perils to guard their states. The use of peril in its time is great indeed.

Where this comes from in Chinese texts
The text numbers the eight trigrams 1 to 8 and gives the element of each.
The trigram without the moving line is the self; the trigram with it is the event.
The text gives a verdict in words for each of the five relations, not a number. This site ranks the five verdicts as auspicious levels 5 to 1.
This section of the same text does not list the self overcoming the event among the auspicious relations, so the text is not consistent on this point.
The hexagram from the four middle lines is the middle outcome, and the hexagram with the moving line flipped is the closing outcome.
The names, judgments and six line texts of all 64 hexagrams are quoted from the original, with translations by the lucky-number team following the commentary of 朱熹《周易本義》
The meaning of each hexagram name, the image of each hexagram and the images of the trigrams are quoted from this set of commentaries, written later than the main text.
The text says nothing about phone numbers. Splitting the number into the first 5 and last 5 digits and adding up each part is a modern adaptation, close to the section that casts from 10 characters split into an upper and a lower half.
Examples in the text also add the hour of casting. This page adds no time, so the same number gives the same result every day, and the seasonal strength of the trigrams is not used.
The text itself says to use it flexibly, not rigidly: 「
Simple reading: the auspicious level is the site's ranking of the wording in the text. It is a symbolic reading, not a promise of luck.
About this tool
What casting a hexagram from a phone number means
梅花易數 is a Chinese text that teaches casting a hexagram from numbers. The first number gives the upper trigram and the second gives the lower trigram. The two stacked make one of 64 hexagrams, and the total tells which of the six lines is the moving line.
This page borrows those steps for a 10-digit phone number and checks whether the elements of the self and event trigrams give rise to each other, overcome each other or are the same. The Chinese result here is always kept apart from the Thai result on the lucky phone number page.

Questions about the Chinese phone number system
Why is the number split into the first 5 and last 5 digits?
Meihua Yishu has a way of casting from 10 written characters that splits them into an upper half and a lower half. This page borrows that split for a 10-digit number and adds up the digits of each half. It is the site's own application. The text says nothing about phone numbers.
Where do the 5 auspicious levels come from?
The text gives its verdict on the five relations in words, not numbers. This site ranks the five verdicts from 5 to 1. Level 5 is the one the text calls the joy of gain, and level 1 is the one it calls inauspicious in all matters.
Why does the same number always give the same result?
Examples in the text also add the hour of casting. This page uses only the digits of the number and adds no time, so the same number always casts the same hexagram.
How is this different from the lucky phone number page?
The lucky phone number page uses Thaksa and Thai numerology. This page follows the casting steps of a Chinese text. The two systems are always shown apart and never merged into one score.
Do you keep the number I enter?
No. The number is worked out in your browser. It is not sent to this site, not put in the link and not kept in the tab.
